Daisy Victoria – Animal Lover | Track Review

WHEN: 19th AUGUST | LIKE.LOVE.ALRIGHT: LIKE

One of the biggest ways to get me to respond to a submission in the email inbox (which has since reached over +100 unread emails a day now, great) is if the artist/PR person sends me a personalised email. Just a simple hello and some nice words goes a long way in making my job a lot more enjoyable, and when most of the time I receive simple copy-and-pasted emails it certainly helps them stand out when there’s a bit of effort involved.

Daisy Victoria is somebody who did exactly that. Her email showed me how “mysterious and dark” she is and she also promised a “dick pic to follow”, which is fantastic. Thank you Daisy. Anyway, this this is her new single Animal Lover. I too am an animal lover, so I think I am in love with this lady.

HONNE – Warm on a Cold Night | Album Review

WHEN: JULY 22ND | TATEMAE RECORDINGS | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LOVE

HONNE are a British electronic duo and this is their debut album Warm On A Cold Night. I have been anticipating the release of this record ever since hearing the wonderful single ‘Someone That Loves You’ which combined elements of electronica and soul to create something that’s rich in vibrancy and sensual feelings too. Awesome.

Trudy and the Romance – Wild | Track Review

WHEN: 20TH JUNE (BIT LATE) | B3SCI RECORDS | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LIKE

You know, I always pride myself on keeping up to date with music. Keeping this site fresh with constant deliveries of the ripest fruit is something I strive to achieve each week, so you have no idea how pleased I am to bring something to you that was released over a month ago. I do apologise, but luckily this little fruit has remained as juicy and as ripe as the day it was born. Trudy and the Romance reside in Liverpool and this is their latest track Wild.

Attic Empire – Got Me Feelin’ | Track Review

WHEN: JULY 3RD | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LOVE

I love a bit of good old fashioned funk. There’s something about music that aims to attack the hips that sits so right with me, and this is one of those tunes. Attic Empire is a six piece indie funk band from LA and this is their new single Got Me Feelin’.

This track has everything you could want to satisfy a craving for some feel good vibes. A walking bassline struts its way through the wah-wah heavy guitar riffs, the strong beat of the drums and the vocals caps things off by flowing perfectly against all this swinging music. Attic Empire throws all sorts of horns on top too, allowing them to dominate the airwaves with a strong gusto that fills the atmosphere with even more summery goodness.

Got Me Feelin’ is a superb song. Attic Empire have produced something that is full of bright, vibrant colours and comes packed with so many different levels of engaging riffs and sections that it’s quite hard not to fall in love with it. It’s great, I love it.

Johnny Foreigner – Mono No Aware | Album Review

WHEN: JULY 8TH | WHERE: ALCOPOP! RECORDS | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LIKE

Years ago I saw a good friend of mine achieve the wonderful feat of contributing some of his own words to a music website. That moment made me feel two things: 1. That’s pretty cool and 2. I wanna do that. Anyway this dude basically became something of an idol to me and that’s how we segway-through-all-of-the-creepy-details-to-get-to me experiencing the sounds of Johnny Foreigner way back in 2011. Their track ‘You vs Everything’ was somewhat of a summer anthem, and with their new album Mono No Aware now released, it’s like everything’s come full circle.

White Lies – Take It Out On Me | Track Review

WHEN: ‘FRIENDS’ – 7TH OCTOBER | WHERE: BMG | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LIKE

White Lies are back! As like many people here in the UK I fell in love with the band’s blend of gothic undertones and subtle disco hits which made albums like ‘To Lose My Life…’ and ‘Ritual’ so excellent. Their new track Take It Out On Me is a welcome return to that sound with hopes of another solid effort in the form of upcoming album ‘Friends’, out in October.

Delphina Kings – Holding Me Up | Track Review

JUNE 24TH | PLAYING WITH SOUND | LOVE.LIKE.ALRIGHT: LIKE

Upbeat music is great all year round, but it becomes extra special when the atmosphere around it matches. Right now it’s hotter than the sun and I am sweating just a little bit (hi ladies) and it’s great, all because I am listening to Holding Me Up, the debut single by Delphina Kings.
