Hearts in Motion by YUCK | Track Review

WHEN: 11.01.2016
WHERE: Mame Records

This year YUCK will be back with the release of their third album Stranger Things on February 26th, and this is their latest single off the record titled Hearts In Motion. I’m probably not the only one that fell of the YUCK bandwagon after the leaving of the band’s original frontman after the release of their self-titled debut album, but this new track does instil some new found interest in the band.

Hearts In Motion follows the typical YUCK sound with some hugely distorted guitars performing all manner of heartbroken melodies and fuzzy power chords to truly ring out their angsty side of grunge loud and proud. The track is catchy but offers little hooks which kind of bleed into the wall of fuzz inbetween YUCK’s deliverance of additional riffs and melodies. All in all the track is decent, and it’s nice to see YUCK change up their sound and tempo throughout it. Hearts In Motion is a pretty good start, and I’m hoping the new record will turn me into a born again YUCK fan.
