Ahhhhhhh Canadians. I like Canadians. They make good music and make me always talk about how much I like them everytime I get the chance to talk about their music. Today’s music comes from trio Goodnight, Sunrise and their split single D/V 2: Bridgeburner. What’s cool is that the single features a battle between the two vocalists David and Vanessa (See what they did there?) with Gold Star being sung by David and Liar Liar coming from Vanessa. It’s a battle to the death. People will legit die because of this, and that makes it even more appealing.
Gold Star is a heavy hitting track with huge guitar riffs that sound straight out of the likes of Audioslave/The Black Keys/Queens of the Stone Age which kick a punch just as much as the drums too. Goodnight, Sunrise incorporate a hint of keys inside to really round this ballsy rock song off with a heavy set amount of big, meaty clackers to really kick off this single in the biggest way possible.
Liar Liar is a slightly sexier affair with a sweet drum and female vocal intro laying down the foundations for some sweet keyboard riffs and eventually some extra heavy guitar riffs that turn this raunchy sound into a great big lady stallion comprised of a dozen reasons why you should make out with it right now. It’s awesome, and just as good as Gold Star.So it’s a draw, and we’re all winners here.
