Forever Cult – Suntrap :: Track Review

It’s always cool to get in touch with new record labels across the UK, and last year saw the rise of our favourite new label Clue Records. Started in November 2012, the record label from Leeds began distributing music from three local bands: Allusondrugs, NARCS and Forever Cult. We heard all the material from the three bands and pretty much enjoyed all of it, so we’re very excited to continue working alongside Clue Records this year.
Forever Cult is a three piece grunge/rock band, and this is their new single Suntrap. These guys dropped their debut EP Fuxx last October, and we really enjoyed their mix of melodic/aggressive 90s grunge music, laced with the poppier qualities of acts like Wavves and The Vines. These guys continue to display their nostalgic sound as Suntrapreveals both sides of the band’s ability to deliver intricate, dark melodies as well as hard hitting guitar riffs that certainly leave a lasting impression.
Suntrap is another solid listen from Forever Cult, and with the band receiving radio play from Amazing Radio, as well as being selected to headline the Leeds event of Independent Venue Week 2014, this could be a pretty big year for them. It’s an exciting time for the independent scene for sure. Check out the video for Suntrapbelow, and look out for the free download on the 27thJanuary, via Clue Records.
